In May 2023, the relationship between Canna Connect MN and the Minnesota Cannabis College bloomed with exciting collaboration and communication. Tanner Berris, President of the Minnesota Cannabis College, reached out to us in May, exploring opportunities to exhibit at Canna Connect 02. Our response? We generously offered the MN Cannabis College a complimentary table at the event, which was held on July 29th, 2023. Working together, we set up a special discount code on EventHi, allowing Tanner to easily register the MN Cannabis College for their complimentary table. This partnership exemplifies Canna Connect MN's dedication to supporting educators and activists in the cannabis industry, ensuring our commitment to the plant remains pure.
In June 2023, the cannabis community in Minnesota witnessed an exciting development in the form of Tanner Berris launching the highly-anticipated "Northern Lights Podcast" on June 12th. This groundbreaking podcast shouldered its way into the limelight with its inaugural episode featuring none other than Mason Alt, a prominent figure from Uniflora Holistics and Retro Bakery. The buzz around this podcast caught my attention, and I wasted no time reaching out to Tanner Berris to relay my appreciation with a simple text, "Great podcast." As the month progressed, the enthusiasm only grew, prompting me to reconnect with Tanner on June 28th. This time, the purpose was to explore the possibilities of collaborating on Canna Connect events. We scheduled a meeting post the 4th of July holiday, setting the stage for an exciting and fruitful collaboration between Canna Connect MN and the esteemed Minnesota Cannabis College. Together, we continue to pave the way for progress and innovation in the cannabis industry in 2023.
In the groundbreaking year of 2023, the Minnesota cannabis community witnessed an extraordinary partnership that forever changed the landscape. Canna Connect MN and the Minnesota Cannabis College joined forces, igniting the spark of progress and collaboration. Fueled by their shared vision, these visionary entities gathered at The Wilderness, a place where like-minded individuals come together to explore the enlightening path of education. Led by the brilliant minds of Doctor Clemon Dabney and Anthony Newby, participants embarked on an exhilarating adventure in the art of green-thumbing. From cannabis laws to the importance of plant cloning for breeding purposes, Doc Dabs shared invaluable insights, amplifying knowledge and curiosity. This remarkable event also featured the debut of Cultivated CBD's innovative THC beverage, a tangible representation of the vibrant possibilities that arise when pioneers unite. The partnership between Canna Connect MN and the Minnesota Cannabis College became a thriving hub, nurturing individual growth and mutual empowerment. As July 2023 marked the beginning of their fruitful collaboration, the event series stands as a testament to the endless possibilities that await those who dare to challenge the status quo in the Minnesota Cannabis Industry.
In August, Canna Connect MN and the Minnesota Cannabis College had an eventful collaboration, showcasing our commitment to cannabis education and community building. As we reflected on the past, we discovered valuable lessons that we eagerly share with you. One noteworthy experience was our first-class success, featuring Doc Dabs and Cultivated. To make it extra special, we decided to treat everyone with mouthwatering Wrecktangle Pizza. However, this endeavor taught us the challenges of serving hot food at an event. The pizza company's eagerness resulted in double the number of pizzas, causing a slight delay and cold slices. Behind the scenes, I had an engaging conversation with the Manager, leaving our eager attendees waiting. This encounter made us realize the intricate nature of organizing an event and the importance of supporting local businesses while sourcing quality products. Though it was a good learning experience, it also brought us humility, reminding us that every event is unique and requires careful planning. As we move forward, we embrace the lessons learned and continue our journey to create memorable experiences that bring the cannabis community together in 2023.
In 2023, Canna Connect MN and the Minnesota Cannabis College experienced incredible growth and learning opportunities. A significant milestone was reached when we hosted a professional discussion at the Minneapolis Cider Company, in collaboration with Boveda Fresh and the North Star Law Group. This groundbreaking event, which was livestreamed on YouTube, featured none other than Chris Elvrum, the assistant director of the Office of Medical Cannabis. It was an absolute honor to work alongside Tanner and coordinate this event outside of our usual setting at The Wilderness.
Despite facing various challenges, such as bar minimums, required bar staff, and a more costly venue within the Minneapolis Cider Company, the upside was surely the collaboration with Boveda Fresh. Their invaluable support allowed us to reach a wider audience and bring the event to more people. Notably, we were thrilled to have a representative from the Minnesota Department of Health, Office of Medical Cannabis, as a speaker. This was particularly significant as Minnesota had not yet appointed a Director of the Office of Cannabis Management.
We invite you to view the presentation and witness the remarkable progress made in the cannabis industry in Minnesota:
In 2023, the partnership between Canna Connect MN and the Minnesota Cannabis College soared to new heights with a Storz & Bickel sponsorship, setting the stage for volcanoes to enter The Wilderness. After a temporary pause on our in-person grow at home classes, we regrouped with enthusiasm and launched the exhilarating Minnesota Cannabis College Grow-At-Home Boot Camp. This groundbreaking program provides a comprehensive guide to cultivating cannabis at home, covering everything from seed selection to proper curing techniques, along with all the necessary inputs in between. Leading the way with unmatched expertise is the remarkable Tanner Berris, while the captivating presentation is expertly recorded by the esteemed Water Wave TV. Our speakeasy also proudly hosted Canna Joy MN, offering an impressive selection of high-quality seeds and refreshing beverages for our devoted students. Get ready to level up your cannabis education! We recently hosted a game-changing Drying & Curing 101 class, presented by the experts at Boveda Fresh and supported by Raiden Labs. It was a refreshing change for us to be in the audience, soaking up knowledge instead of presenting. We teamed up with local businesses who are true masters in the art of Drying and Curing, ensuring that our attendees got top-notch insights. And let me tell you, it opened our eyes to a whole new world of possibilities.
